10 Months!

Our little guy is 10 months old already! It's so hard to believe! The biggest accomplishment he's made this month has been to start eating finger foods... So far he's only eaten a couple of fruits and veggies, but he's definitely improving each time he tries... The hardest part for him is picking the pieces up- they're kind of slippery for him.... But we're going to slowly start introducing other foods every day.... Here are the 10 month facts about our little man:

-Each day he gets a little closer to crawling, although I'm starting to wonder if he'll just skip the crawling stage. He gets ANYWHERE he needs to go by rolling and spinning around, so I don't think he really feels the need to crawl.
-He is starting to balance himself more and more when he stands and is just now figuring out how to hang on to things when he stands up (before he always wanted to use his hands to play and wouldn't hang on).
-He LOVES to eat cereal puffs...
-We're still working on a couple of signs with him ("more", "eat", "please"), but so far he doesn't seem to be picking up on them...
-He still loves to watch his Praise Baby DVDs....
-He loves to take walks in the stroller and stop at the park to swing (it's become a daily routine for us).
-He loves to be tickled and giggles so loud... It just melts my heart...
-He LOVES to read books and have books read to him- although he loves for us to read to him, he could sit for forever with a book by himself and just turn the pages over and over. I think he's going to be a book-lover :)
-He loves to take baths, but still cries when bath time is over...

I guess that's about it.... I'll try my best to keep up with this blog over the next month or so, but no guarantees... We're going to be pretty busy packing and getting the new house ready to move into.... I'll post pictures soon.... Thanks for checking in on our little family!!

Loving the elephant's hair!
No big smiles this month- it was all I could do to get a picture without him moving all over and grabbing the paper.....
And there goes the paper....
The alphabet book....
Reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear with Daddy... I could sit and listen to Drew read to him for hours...
Eating peas like a big boy!
Look at me mom!!! I'm standing all by myself!!
I love this cheesy smile!

Exciting News!

Sorry it's been awhile since I posted. Our little man has been a little out of sorts in the past week or so. He was terribly crabby and fussy. We finally figured out it was a combination of an ear infection and teeth!! Not a good combo. Thankfully, the last few days have been much better (for all of us) now that he's on medicine. I think the new teeth will be popping through in the next couple of days, so I'll have to post pictures when they do.

And for our exciting news- We are moving!! We sold our house and have found a new one. The ironic thing is that neither house were even listed for sale- they didn't even have signs in the yards. We just had someone contact us and ask to come look at our house. We told her that she was welcome to come look at it, although we weren't sure we would be selling. She ended up wanting to buy our house and we heard about a couple that was going to be listing their house in the next few weeks and gave them a call. The house is about the same size as ours now, except it has a full walkout basement. It's VERY close to my parent's house (actually the backyards meet up). We're very excited, but a little overwhelmed with all of the stress that comes with moving. We have some projects ahead of us, as this new house will need some updating and a little love. We have no doubt that this was definitely a God thing so we're very excited!! We would appreciate your prayers as we will be very busy in the next month! It's amazing how much stuff we have accumulated in the 4 years we have been married!!

Evan with his tree at 9 1/2 months- he's bigger than the tree now!!
We've already planned to take his tree with us to the new house!

First Swim!

Evan had his first swim last night at Grampa Brad's and Gramma Charna's... He actually did really well. Luckily, their pool is heated and it was 84 degrees- a lot like his bathwater, so I think that helped. He wasn't too sure about it at first, but by the end he was splashing his arms around and smiling.. I think he'll really enjoy swimming this summer.... All ready to go swimming!
I don't know about this Daddy.....
Still not too sure...
Now he's doing better....
He loved sitting on the step :)
Evan and Grampa Brad...
Lounging by the pool...
Hailey fed Evan his supper... She did so good with him!!
It's too bad they live so far away- Hailey would make a great baby-sitter!!

HIP, HIP HOORAY!!

Drew's test is over!! To say Sunday was an enjoyable day is quite the understatement... We were all so happy to be a normal family again... Drew was pretty happy with how the test went this year, so we're praying that he passed! We'll find out the results in mid-August.. I'm so proud of him.. He has worked SOOO hard for the last 4-5 months and never once complained about all of the things he has missed and sacrificed.. I'm so blessed to have a husband who works so hard to provide for our family :)

I haven't taken too many pictures of the munchkin in the last couple of days, but here are a couple for those of you who have been asking for more pictures (you know who you are!!).... We are planning on taking Evan swimming for the first time tonight at Grampa Brad's and Gramma Charna's house....So we'll see how that goes... Drew's brother and kids are visiting for a couple of days, so I'll try to take lots of pictures tonight....

Laughing at mommy!! She's so funny :)
Sitting on the swing at the park... We've been walking to the park everyday... So fun!
His new hat that protects his bald head from the sun :)
Watching all the big kids playing at the playground....

These past four years have been so wonderful... I'm so blessed to have such a caring and loving husband.... Here's to many more years together honey... I LOVE YOU!!

And of course, I had to post some pictures of the little man... These are from our day at the park a couple of days ago...

Birthday Celebrations and Fun Outside!

We had a fun-filled weekend in between all of Drew's study time... Saturday night we went out to eat at Logan's Roadhouse for Laura's 23rd birthday... And Sunday evening we celebrated both Laura and Dad's birthday (which is today- HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!) with a bonfire... Drew is really studying a lot now as we're counting down the days until the big test... If you think about it, pray for our family this week- That Drew can continue to stay focused on studying and that Evan and I can be helpful in allowing him to study as much as possible... It's such a relief knowing that after Saturday our life can return to normal!!
