Evan's First Haircut!

I'm sure most of you are thinking to yourselves- Did he even need a haircut??? Well, he was starting to get somewhat of a mullet in the back. His hair in the back is growing at a much quicker speed than his hair on top.... So we decided to take him to Bob for his first haircut. We think Bob probably gave Drew his first haircut (and Drew still has Bob cut his hair), so it only seemed fitting that we would take Evan there. He did really well. Not a peep out of him. Bob even put some of his hair in a baggie for me (for my scrapbooking :) ) and gave Evan a little certificate. He looked like such a big boy sitting in that chair... My little man is growing up!!!Here we go....
How cute is that face!!
Not too sure at first....
Almost done!!

Eleven Months!

What a crazy month! I think Evan has changed more in this past month than any month so far. Or maybe it just seems like it since we've all been so busy with packing and moving this last month. Here are some of his latest accomplishments:

-He now scoots/army crawls EVERYWHERE. Right after we moved in we had to start babyproofing everything. We have to make sure the basement door is always shut and can't really leave him alone for any length of time without him getting into something he shouldn't!
-He loves to play Pat-A-Cake- especially the rolling part.... It makes me smile every time you start to sing the song and he instantly starts to clap his hands.
-He's a great little kisser. All you have to do is pucker up your lips and he leans over to kiss you. I love it!!
-He still loves books the best. At this point, he doesn't particularly let you read them much- he just likes to turn the pages over and over again.
-He still likes to watch his Praise Baby movies, although now he gets pretty distracted with other things around him and doesn't pay as much attention to his movies anymore.
-He's getting much better with standing up to things and holding on- He's just starting to try and pull himself up...
-He loves to eat!!! Now he eats pretty much all finger foods (fruits, veggies and meats, crackers, cheerios). He also loves to eat cottage cheese and yogurt. In the last couple of weeks he's also started to drink Vitamin D milk- a big step for our little guy!!
-He loves to take walks in his stroller! It's always a sure way to make him a happy guy if he's crabby....
-He loves to chase our kitties... It's so funny- He takes off after them and never quite catches them, but it's been good crawling practice for him. At first he would cry when they wouldn't let him catch them, but I think now he's gotten kind of used to it...

I've included some pictures we've taken recently... I need to start getting in the groove of taking pictures again now that we're getting settled in our new house...
What a big boy!
I love this smile!Eating at Pizza Hut....

Quick Update!!

Sorry for not posting lately, but we've been soo busy these past couple of weeks. The new house has been consuming ALL of our time. It ended up being a little more of a fixer-upper than we had initially thought and we're trying to get as much done before moving day as possible. We're basically painting the whole upper floor and redoing all of the light fixtures and flooring (which wasn't originally planned). But needless to say, when all of this work is done, we'll pretty much have a new house! And then we'll start working on the basement......... Overall things are going well and we're making more and more progress each day thanks to all of the help we've had from our wonderful families.....

And for the really big news- EVAN has starting crawling in the last couple of weeks!!!! Well, at least his version of crawling. He hasn't actually lifted himself up off the ground yet, but he's definitely figured out how to get his arms and legs moving forward. It's amazing how quickly he's picked it up and how he has all of a sudden forgotten that he knows how to roll. Now he scoots everywhere.... I'm starting to realize that this is going to make the moving process even more difficult now that he's on the go, but we'll make it through!!!

So many of you have told us you've been praying for us during this transition period. You don't know how much we appreciate it... Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.... I'll try to update soon with pictures, but I really haven't even stopped to take too many of them these past few weeks!!

Goodbye House!

We closed on our house this afternoon.... And the closing on our new house is on Monday. We have lots of work ahead of us in the next couple of weeks/months, but we're excited to fix up our new house and make it our own- the extra space in the basement will be wonderful!!! We'll be having lots of Wii and pool parties at the new house... We just purchased a Wii in the last week or so, so that's been lots of fun... And Drew's aunt has already told us she'll give us her pool table to put in the basement!! Fun, fun... Also, it's very exciting to think about living so close to my parent's house!! Although I'll be a little sentimental about leaving our current house... This was our first house we've lived in as a married couple and the home that Evan started the first 11 months of his life in.... But we've taken lots of pictures and video to remember this place by... We are happy to know that the girl who will be living here will take good care of our house and love it like we have the past 4 years... I've included some pictures of our little house..... Sometime next week I'll take some pictures of the new house and post them!!

Busy Busy Busy!!

We've been very busy at our house these past couple of weeks. This past weekend, we spent Friday with both sides of our families for the 4th of July- at the lake with my family for lunch and at Drew's aunt and uncle's house by the pool for dinner... A very fun-filled and beautiful day! Then Saturday morning we packed up really early and headed to Chicago to visit Drew's brother and his family. This was Evan's first big overnight trip and he did pretty well with being out of his element. As usual, we had lots of fun with Rob, Laura, Hailey and Ty. We got to watch one of Hailey's softball games, went to a 4th of July parade, played at the park, and I got to go to a big flea market for a few hours on Sunday with Laura and Hailey while the boys hung out at home. It was a great weekend.... So now it's time to start some serious packing. Drew took a couple of days off this week to help get our house packed up. As of now, we think we're closing on our current house at the end of the week (although we don't have to be out until the end of the month) and closing on the new house at the beginning of next week where we'll have immediate possession.... So we have lots of work ahead of us in the coming weeks!! Stay tuned for pictures!!Ty showing Evan how to play with his toys :) It was so cute!!
