Evan LOVES to play outside!!

We have discovered over the last couple of weeks that Evan LOVES to play outside. I have a feeling we'll be spending LOTS of time outside this summer :) Rob and Ty (Drew's brother and nephew) came to visit last week on their spring break and Evan LOVED playing with his cousin Ty. Ty is really into matchbox cars right now (and ironically, so is Evan). Ty brought all of his cars (which is alot!) and shared with Evan. Needless to say, Evan was in heaven!
Loving the tennis ball!! And the wind in his hair :)
Playing ball in the cul-de-sac with the boys...
Riding in the wagon in our basement one evening :)
Trying out his new bike with Uncle Cal...
Racing cars with Ty...Evan's cousin Ty...
Sliding with Gramma Charna...
Watching the dogs through the fence...
He's on the move!!

Bad Hair Day!

This is the way we've been finding Evan in the morning after a night in his crib... It never ceases to make us laugh...

This one is before his haircut....
And after his haircut... I thought maybe it wouldn't be so bad since it wasn't as long, but I guess I was wrong!!

18 Month Pictures

One of my best friends from high school (she was actually my doubles partner on the tennis team) was home visiting her family a couple of weeks ago. She takes pictures at one of the "big box" stores and is going to start her own photography business. We decided at the last minute that she would take some pictures of Evan while she was here. It was a little challenging as we also had to entertain her 2 kids while trying to get some pictures of Evan and we were using her parent's house instead of her house (which she has her studio in), but she got some really great pictures. Let me know if you like any of these- I can give you her website and info. She does a great job and is VERY reasonably priced!

Fun times...

We've made lots of fun memories in the last week or so... Lots of good food (celebrating March birthdays with our family) and lots of fun times... Evan is so much fun these days- except for the tantrums he is starting to throw when he doesn't get his way... I think the terrible twos are starting a little early for this guy!
Walking around Jefferson Pointe this last weekend and having a blast.... He threw a major fit when it was time to leave...
Evan and Papa walking together...
Ma and Evan...
Evan and I went to Indy for a couple of days at the beginning of the week. One of my best friends from college (Trisha) is due in about a month with their second baby. I went down to help her get the nursery ready and also to spend some time together (of course). We had such a great time! I helped her wash and organize all the baby clothes and blankets. So much pink! Let me tell you- this little girl is going to be well-dressed :) Elias is about 5 months older than Evan and they played really well together. We only had a couple instances when they had trouble sharing :)
We went on a walk Monday night. The weather was awesome and the boys played outside a lot. This picture was taken after the walk, and you can tell they were tired and ready for bed!!
Reading books together...
Playing in the kitchen...
Checking out the cows at the apple farm.... Evan was having so much fun (this was a new experience for him), and he let us know he did not want to leave!!
Helping Trisha vacuum :) I think we need to get him one of his own so I can put him to work at our house!
Watching out the window together... I thought this picture was priceless... Notice how they found a toy to stand on so they could reach....
Evan playing with Elias' lawn mower... Another favorite!!

Life Lessons

I've done a little decorating around the house in the last couple of weeks... Drew thinks that these wall words are a little cheesy, but we've experienced firsthand this week how precious life is. God has really been teaching us how important it is to make the most of each and every moment. A man in our church passed away last night of a massive heart attack. I can't even begin to imagine the days that his wife and four little children (the youngest is less than a year old) have ahead of them. Drew and I are pretty close to this family, as we've watched several of their kids every Wednesday night in the nursery at our church. It just breaks my heart to think of the pain they will have to endure. It's so easy to question God at times like this, but we know our God is a sovereign God and He has a plan in all of this. Please join us in praying for this family....

I LOVE YOU MAMA...

Evan has started to tell us that he loves us......... It just melts my heart! I'm not sure anyone else would know that's what he's saying, but we do :) I took a video of it this morning and thought I would share it with all of you.... Enjoy!

I messed around with IPhoto this afternoon and edited some of the most recent pictures I've taken of Evan... They're definitely not professional, but I thought they turned out alright...

Pushing his cars around on the floor in his room...

Clapping....
Eating at Pizza Hut and pretty happy about it!

Wonderful Weekend!!

We had a great weekend here at the Baker house... Friday night we went to family swim at the YMCA and had lots of fun.... Evan didn't know what to think with me in the pool with him. Daddy is usually the one in the pool. Evan continues to progress each time we take him swimming although we still have a ways to go. Who knows- we could have a little fishy one day who LOVES to swim!! Saturday we just hung around the house until the evening when we went out to dinner with a family from our church.... Sunday was my birthday- the big 27! We celebrated with lunch at my parent's house and then as a family the rest of the day. Drew didn't let me do much of anything around the house yesterday and just let me relax. It was a great weekend with family...

Oh, and my birthday gift from Drew??? A mystery getaway in the next couple of months- just the 2 of us! He wouldn't tell me when or where we're going, so who knows what he has up his sleeve... I'm excited thinking about it- this will be our first time away from Evan overnight!

I keep forgetting to post these pictures... Evan's Great-Grandpa Dave was down on the floor playing with the kids a couple of weeks ago when the Baker family all got together. This was Evan's first experience with Play-Doh and he loved it!
Great-Grandpa Dave and Evan...
Happy boy!!
Sitting on the floor with his monkey and watching his movie- I love how he always has his legs crossed... Too cute :)
Such a ham!
Giving mommy kisses over his table... He's been so into giving hugs and kisses lately.... There's nothing better than that :)
Playing on the floor with Aunt Laura and John!
