EIGHT MONTHS!
Little Evan is growing up! He's eight months old today... This month has been lots of fun... I'm so excited as he enters each new stage, but a little sentimental that he's growing out of the baby stages!! Luckily, he is becoming more and more snuggly each day which makes for some great mommy and daddy cuddle times! Here are some of his latest accomplishments....
*He is still rolling all over the place in order to reach his toys and books.. Now if only we could get him to start lifting that big belly up to start crawling!!
*He LOVES to be outside and take walks in his stroller. It's almost like he's in a trance- he just takes it all in....
*He is still loving every kind of baby food (meats, fruits and veggies) as well as nursing 2-3 times a day...
*He has 2 bottom teeth! We thought they'd never pop through, but they FINALLY did.. It sure made for a crabby baby!
*He has started to eat some finger foods (Gerber puffs) and drink from a sippy cup. Although he's still not real good at picking up his puffs, we're working on it... He is getting pretty good at holding his sippy cup though...
*I've been teaching him how to give kisses lately... He's actually gotten the hang of it pretty well... It just makes my heart smile when he comes at me with a big slobbery wet one!!
*He loves to sing with mommy during the day and read lots of books (well mostly he likes to eat and grab at the books, but at least we're trying!!)
*He loves to be bounced and "thrown" up in the air by daddy... Of course, daddies seem to play a little more rough, but Evan sure seems to love it.... I love Evan's expression when he sees Drew when he comes home from work... He usually lets out a little whimper until Drew picks him up.. It's so cute :)
*He's getting better at balancing himself when he stands. I bought him a new "stand-up" toy and I think it will definitely help him with standing by himself...
*We're guessing he's at least 26 pounds (we haven't had him weighed since his 6-month checkup and he doesn't go again until 9 months).. He's wearing both 12 and 18 month clothes already. We're getting ready to switch him to a bigger car seat.... My back definitely hurts at the end of each day from "lugging" him around... But I guess he's worth it :)
I guess that pretty much sums up the last month... Every day we thank God for the blessings that our little guy brings... We feel so lucky.... Thank you for sharing our life with us through our blog!!

Adorable Evan...
For some reason, I haven't been taking too many pictures lately.... What has gotten in to me?!? Here are a few I've taken recently... I experimented a little with our photo software and was pretty happy with how they turned out :) Enjoy!
What a handsome guy!

Fun Weekend!!
We had a great weekend! We decided last minute on Friday to have a date night, so Grampa Brad, Gramma Charna and Uncle Cal came to stay with Evan... Drew and I went out to dinner and a movie and had a great time.... Evan had lots of fun too... Then on Saturday we went to Fort Wayne with Grampa Clark, Gramma Beth and Aunt Laura... We shopped a little and then ate dinner.. Evan did really well in his stroller, although he didn't get his afternoon nap in so we paid for it on Sunday!! Overall we had a great time with our families... I just love the weekends so much when Drew is home and we get to spend lots of quality family time together... Now if only the weather would get nicer!!!
Watching his ball popper... He got this toy for Christmas from Uncle Rob, Aunt Laura, Hailey and Ty and we just put it together this week to see if he was interested in it yet... He enjoys watching the balls, but doesn't care too much about putting them back in yet!!
This was the best picture I could get showing his two new teeth. They're not all the way in yet, but they've popped through... We had some crabby days, but they're finally through the skin!
Riding the carousel at the Ft. Wayne mall with Grampy Clark... I think he actually enjoyed himself! I wasn't sure if he'd be scared or not, but he actually liked it :) At one point, he even grabbed onto the pole with both hands just like a big boy!
We didn't get any smiley pictures, but the carousel moved so fast it was hard to take any pictures at all.... He looked like such a big boy up there....

Evan's New Swing!
Evan has a new swing at Grampa Clark and Gramma Beth's house... They have big trees in their yard to hang one from and have been looking forward to buying one for him this spring... Our trees are just miniature, so that wasn't an option at our house... We tried it out yesterday since the weather was actually pretty nice... I think he's going to be a big fan of it this summer... I'm so happy the weather has been nice the past few days and we've been able to get outside and take walks with the stroller... We're looking forward to summertime at the Baker house!!Evan and Mommy taking a walk...

Teething = Crabby Evan
We had a great weekend at the Baker household!! Drew and I had a date night on Saturday night (thanks to Grampa Clark and Grammy Beth for watching Evan). We went to the Olive Garden, did a little shopping, and then splurged and stopped at DeBrands for dessert on our way home. We had a great time and enjoyed the peace and quiet with the two of us, but we were glad to be back home with our little man. As of Monday, Evan is in the process of getting his first tooth and we've discovered that it makes for a very crabby Evan... I think he may also have gotten the cold that both Drew and I have had, which isn't helping matters any.... His poor little nose is runny and his eyes have been watery. The past two days and nights have been a little challenging around our house, but we're surviving!! It just breaks my heart that he's hurting and there's not much that comforts him.. But I guess that's all part of having a little guy and loving him sooo much!! I'll post pictures of Evan's tooth when we can actually see it as he smiles!!! Making up for the sleep he didn't get during the night!!!
I just noticed as I'm posting this that he has some baby food stuck to his face!! That's our messy boy!!
