Mommy Time

Lately, I have been overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude and amazement at the love and joy that has filled my life with the birth of little Evan. I think part of these feelings stem from the fact that Drew has been gone in Las Vegas on a business trip the last few days (Evan and I have really missed him!) For those of you who don't know yet- We have officially made the decision that I will be a full-time stay-at-home mommy :) I couldn't be happier about the decision and I'm so thankful that I have a husband who values my time at home and is willing to make the sacrifices necessary for that to happen. It's so hard for me to imagine returning to my job at the bank and missing out on so many things that Evan is doing. I feel so priveleged that I get to be the one to take care of my little man.

On a side note, I've found a wonderful CD by Plumb (a Christian artist). The CD is titled "Blink" and all the songs are about being a mommy.... I've found myself listening to the songs over and over and bawling whether I'm in the car going somewhere or feeding Evan at home during the middle of the night... His little life is such a miracle and I'm constantly in awe that God has blessed Drew and I so richly :) What a joy he is! Here are the lyrics of my favorite song on the CD. I encourage all of you moms out there to buy it- It's such a blessing!

"In My Arms"

Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your curly cues
Your contagious smile
And as I watch
You start to grow up
All I can do
Is hold you tight
Knowing...

Clouds will rage and
Storms will race in
But you will be safe
In my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash around
But you will be safe
In my arms

Storybooks
Are full of fairytales
Of kings and queens
And the bluest skies
But my heart is torn
Just in knowing
You'll someday see
The truth from lies
When the...

Castles they might crumble
Dreams may not come true
But you are never all alone
Cause I will always
Always love you

  1. Wow. I have a couple of Plumb's first CDs, but I haven't listened to anything new from them in a while. I had never heard of Blink. I sampled there songs on http://www.pushplayer.com/plumb/b/ and I am totally going to buy this. Thank you so much for sharing Ash. I am so excited to get it.
