Labor Day Weekend!!

Our Labor Day weekend was wonderful! We spent LOTS of time together as a family and did lots of fun things... Saturday morning/afternoon we headed to the zoo and packed a picnic lunch...
Riding in the log ride in the Austrailian part of the zoo... He loved it!!

Picnic lunch at the zoo....
Then on Sunday, we drove to the Indiana Dunes State Park and spent the day with Drew's parents and Rob's family... Brad and Charna have been married 40 years and this is what we decided to do to celebrate their anniversary.... The weather was great and we all had so much fun in the sand!!

Evan and Ty playing in the sand :)

More sand fun....

Cousins :)

One of the BIG hills that we climbed! Believe it or not, Evan climbed up most of this himself... We kept asking him if he wanted to be carried and he kept saying- "All by self".... Finally, he did let Drew carry him....

Climbing.... It was a workout for sure!

Buddies :)

Running down the hill....

More playing in the water...

Our family :)

Can you tell he's having fun??

Checking out the water with Grandma and Grandpa...

Happy boy :)

On Labor Day, Drew was in a golf outing, so Evan and I spent most of the day with my family.... We drove over to the Black Pine Animal Park in Albion... The weather wasn't too great, but as it turned out we got a special tour because we were practically the only people there...

Inside the reptile house- trying to figure it all out...

Big turtle!

Watching the turtles and iguanas....

The female lion up close and personal....
Papa and Evan with the lion...
One of the volunteers actually took us inside the "cat house" and we got to see all the tigers and other big cats this close... It was soo neat!!
Petting zoo animals- the miniature horse was so cute!

2 Year and Family Pictures!!

One of my best friends from high school is a photographer.... She's taken Evan's pictures a couple of times before, but this time we decided to have her take some family ones as well. We went out to Drew's aunt and uncle's house and just let Evan run while she followed him and snapped some good ones... We were soo happy with the ones she got.. It was hard to choose which ones we loved the most.... Enjoy!

Evan's 2nd Birthday!

I can't believe my baby is 2 already! These past two years have just FLOWN by.... I keep telling him he has to stay little, but he isn't listening to me :( These are the only pictures I have from Evan's 2nd Birthday Party... All of my pictures are on the computer that crashed. So these are from my sister's camera... We kept his party small- with just immediate family (aunts/uncles, grandparents, and great-grandparents)... He had a blast and loved opening his gifts... But most of all he loved his road cake that I made for him.... It was well worth all the time and energy spent making it for him to be that excited about it!! Here are a few pictures....
Shooting hoops with his new basketball hoop!
Playing with new cars on his Lightning McQueen sleeping bag from Aunt Laura and John....
Singing Happy Birthday- he was taking it all in as usual....
Our little family!
The road cake- I couldn't figure out how to rotate the picture... I'm still getting used to this new computer!! He especially loved that the dump truck had M&M's in it :)

Computer Crash.....

Well, in the past couple of weeks we have been very busy... We've celebrated Evan's 2nd birthday, celebrated Drew's passing of the CFA Exams, hung out a lot with family and friends, had family pictures taken, and had 2 computers crash. Yes, that's right- I said 2 computers. Our IMac decided to crash about a week ago, and we are hoping that one of Drew's college friends (a computer guru) in Pennsylvania is able to retrieve some (or all) of our pictures, videos, and files as well as installing a new hard drive. But we'll see.... The computer is currently in Pennsylvania with Nathan and we'll see what comes of that... So in the meantime, we were using an OLD laptop of my sisters. It started making this REALLY loud noise and we decided it would probably be best to just break down and buy a new one. So we have a new laptop and hope to get our IMac back soon.... So that's the story....

In other news, I went to the neurologist this past week. Many of you know that I have been suffering with headaches and insomnia for the last couple of years (since Evan was born) and have tried numerous things and seen lots of doctors, with no relief. We left the neurologist with a possible diagnosis. He thinks I have hemicrania continua (a condition that would also explain the insomnia I've had) and has prescribed several new medicines with the hope that we can put a stop to all of this. So we are praying that this is the solution and our lives can return to normal soon... Thanks for all of you who have continued to pray for this situation......

And for those of you who start to get excited when I don't blog for several weeks and think that we have a certain announcement to make (you know who you are- ELLEN)- there is no announcement of that variety for now!! I will, however, share some pictures of Evan's birthday celebrations and the pictures that my high-school tennis partner took of our family as soon as I'm able to figure out how to download and get things set up on our new computer. But for now, this update will have to do! We pray all is well with all of you in Blogland!!
