Wonderful Weekend!!

We had a great weekend here at the Baker house... Friday night we went to family swim at the YMCA and had lots of fun.... Evan didn't know what to think with me in the pool with him. Daddy is usually the one in the pool. Evan continues to progress each time we take him swimming although we still have a ways to go. Who knows- we could have a little fishy one day who LOVES to swim!! Saturday we just hung around the house until the evening when we went out to dinner with a family from our church.... Sunday was my birthday- the big 27! We celebrated with lunch at my parent's house and then as a family the rest of the day. Drew didn't let me do much of anything around the house yesterday and just let me relax. It was a great weekend with family...

Oh, and my birthday gift from Drew??? A mystery getaway in the next couple of months- just the 2 of us! He wouldn't tell me when or where we're going, so who knows what he has up his sleeve... I'm excited thinking about it- this will be our first time away from Evan overnight!

I keep forgetting to post these pictures... Evan's Great-Grandpa Dave was down on the floor playing with the kids a couple of weeks ago when the Baker family all got together. This was Evan's first experience with Play-Doh and he loved it!

18 MONTHS!

Wow... Time flies when you're having fun! Can you believe my little man is 18 months old today? It seems like just yesterday when we were bringing him home from the hospital! Little Evan has turned our life upside down in the last year and a half and it's hard to remember what our life was like before him! We feel so blessed to have our little guy and thank God for him everyday. What a joy!

Animal Sounds

Evan has been working on his animal sounds lately. Although they're not all perfect, we sure get a kick out of them. Enjoy!

Swim Lessons!

We have been taking Evan to swim lessons every Saturday. He has been doing the parent/child classes with Daddy (Mommy isn't much of a swimmer and this is a good thing for Evan to do with Daddy)... To say that he is doing better is quite the understatement. We still don't see many smiles out of him, but at least he's not screaming bloody murder like he did the first time. He can even see me on the side now without freaking out and reaching for Mommy... I know this might not seem like a big deal to lots of people, but he's really come a long way... We're so proud of our little man...

Growing Up!!

It seems like Evan has grown up so much these past couple of weeks... Our little guy is talking all the time now!! He is learning that he can communicate so much better with us by talking. He has started to pick up on a lot of new words and tries to repeat lots of the things we say. We're just having so much fun watching him grow and learn new things each day! I haven't taken many pictures lately- partially because he's on the move so much I can hardly get him to sit still long enough for a picture! We've also been really busy continuing to finish out our basement and Drew has started to study for his big CFA test in June... I will try to post pictures soon of our progress on the basement. But here are a few of Evan I've taken recently.... We hope all of you friends in "Blogland" are doing well!

Superman and Carousels!

We had another great weekend at the Baker house! Drew went to Bloomington all day Saturday with the Baker clan (I think 17 of them went in all) for a surprise weekend for Dave's (Drew's grandpa) 80th birthday. It sounds like it was a great day filled with lots of laughs and fun times with family. Evan and I stayed at home as we thought it would make for a pretty long day for the little guy. We pretty much stayed around the house, until the evening when we went to Ft. Wayne with my parents and my sister. Evan had a blast riding the carousel at the mall with Grampy...

He smiled soo big ...Every time they would go around he'd smile and look back at us...
